Technology Action Team Strategy:We will develop infrastructure to support robust technology integration across the organization and all curricula. Specific Result/Objective: ·Provide automated tools that facilitate administrative processes. (i.e. document imaging, electronic records and workflow processes) ·Increase district Internet bandwidth to meet current and future needs. ·Implement technical tools to ensure security of network resources, integrity of data, manage bandwidth and monitor activity through content filtering. ·Increase district storage capacity to accommodate growth, student portfolios and video. ·Expand district-wide wireless capacity to support integration of hand-held mobile devices. ·Increase access to technology in order to implement upcoming electronic assessment needs (EOC, on-line TAKS testing, IRI, DRA) ·Adopt and support assistive technology resources to support special needs. ·Upgrade servers for database applications to meet processing requirements, provide redundancy and improve access. (Virtualization to maximize server operability) ·Increase access to library resources via remote access for student and teachers. ·Equip all schools to support a technology rich curriculum and basic computing skills. ·Improve functionality, interoperability and support of a robust student information system. (On-line scheduling, access to information, parent portal, generating reports, transcripts, grade-reporting) ·Encourage parental utilization of technology resources. ·Improve communication efforts through web services and parent portal. ·Incorporate SIF compliancy standards for all district databases and consolidate district databases, where applicable. ·Use technology to manage district resources. (Inventory, purchasing and acquisition) ·Implement technology hardware and software to prepare students for the secondary transition. ·Increase network capacity to accommodate functions of maintenance and operations. (Keyless entry, surveillance, environmental controls, alarms, E-911) ·Increase student access to technology resources. ( 5:1 computer classroom ratio, mobile labs, access away from school) ·Increase digital resources to support distance learning/VOD (video-on-demand). ·Design wide area network to allow for addition of new campuses and meet increasing bandwidth needs.
